Not to let heavy snowfall get us down here at Scarthin Books, yesterday (Sunday 24th March) turned into a ‘Festival of Igloo Building’ out on the Prom, with staff, customers and locals all joining in the fun. Free drinks and soup helped to sustain those brave enough to endure the cold long enough to create four wonderful structures. Twenty four hours later and they’re still standing strong (the igloos, not necessarily the builders).
Rivalled only by the Great Pyramids of Egypt or the Hanging Gardens of Babylon (tickets for the latter are no longer available, although I wouldn’t be surprised to see them for sale on eBay somewhere), we’re expecting hundreds (if not thousands) of international tourists over the coming days.
